Wash Day : Still Relaxer Stretching

I didn’t actually realise this until today but I am nearly 9 months post relaxer, my hair regime has been the same since January and I don’t plan on changing it any time soon. The main questions is when will I be relaxing my hair again and the honest truth is I may not.

I currently don’t have any relaxer to hand and the whole relaxer process makes me cringe right now so I'm going to keep stretching until I get tired and either big chop or relax my hair.

 Products list

Tresemme Naturals Conditioner
SM Coconut and Hibiscus Shampoo
Dr Miracles
Aunt Jackie's in control moisturiser

African Pride leave in
Coconut oil.

(1) I started of off by adding the tresemme Naturals conditioner to my hair in sections and finger detangled my hair. I then let the conditioner sit in my hair for 30mins before rinsing it out.
(2) I then applied SM shampoo to my hair and repeated before rinsing.
(3) Applied Dr miracles medicated conditioner to my hair and left it for 5 mins and rinsed.
(4) Deep conditioned with Aunt Jackie's conditioner for an hour.
(5) I then wrapped my hair in a towel until my hair was no longer dripping wet.
(6) Followed up with my African pride leave in and sealed with coconut oil. I left my hair to dry in 6 braids overnight.

The next day when my hair was completely dry I braided my hair so that I could protective style with 1 of my wigs.

  1. That's a wig? Wow---I would have NEVER guessed! Congrats on making it this far into your stretch chica. Do you still wash weekly and do you have any tips on how you're handling breakage during your stretch?

    Thanks for sharing your #washdayexperience!

    1. Thanks KLP, I no longer wash weekly but every 2-3 weeks. My hair stays braided under my wigs to prevent breakage. Keeping my hair moisturised and in protective styles helps me prevent breakage.
