New Shea Butter Mix

Due to the harsh weather conditions I decided to go back to wearing my wigs but before I sewed it done I decided to mix up some shea butter to help keep my hair underneath.

Ingredients

Raw shea butter
Grapeseed oil
Coconut oil
Aloe Vera Gel
Pina Colada fragrance oil

 Instructions

(1) I started off by adding 3 small scoops of Shea butter to a bowl and put it in the microwave for about 2mins, once it had melted I added the oils.
(2) I then put it in the fridge until it started to become solid.
(3) Added the Aloe Vera Gel to it and began to whip it using a hand blender.
(4) Once it was whipped i added the Pina colada fragrance and whipped it little more.

Iv been trying to make a whipped butter that was smooth and would keep my hair moisturised under my wig but was also thick enough to seal with, so far Im happy with it.

My finished product.

Wash Day

I am currently 2 weeks post and my scalp has been itching like crazy over the last couple of days.,

(1) I started off by applying my garlic treatment to my scalp (see more about this here) and Herbal essences to the length of my hair.
(2) Shampooed with Shea moisture shampoo.
(3) Applied Aphogee reconstructor to my hair for about 15mins with a plastic cap then rinsed.
(4) Deep conditioned with Kanechom Mixed chocolate conditioner for about 2 hours using a plastic cap- when I rinsed my hair my hair felt soft and silky.
(5) Wrapped my hair in an old t-shirt to soak up the excess water.

(6) I finished up my applying my Darcy botanicals leave in and Paul Mitchell's serum before detangling my hair.

(7) Once my hair was fully detangled I sprayed my roots and ends with apogee keratin and green tea reconstructor.

Im going to be air drying my hair in 4 braids overnight.

Hair Update and Protective Styling.

So I am now a week post relaxer and I got the opportunity to enjoy wearing my hair in straight hairstyles for about a week until the weather had a different plan for me and decided to rain on Friday. I was hoping to try out some other protective styles but once water touched my hair it was officially over.

I started the week by wearing my hair in a low bun with a side fringe.

By the end of the week my ends were frizzy and puffy so I decided to go back to wearing my goddess braid for the rest of the week.

Its been raining a lot lately and Im ready to start wearing wigs again. I plan on making 2 new wigs which I will hopefully wear through out the winter.

Relaxer Update.

(1) I started of by parting my hair into small sections and based my scalp, nape and temple with coconut oil.
(2) Applied the relaxer to my hair, leaving my nape and temple area till last.
(3) After leaving the relaxer in for about 15 mins (after smoothing it out) I rinsed.
(4) I noticed a bit of shedding whilst washing my hair so I did a green tea rinse, I then applied the apogee 2 min reconstructor mixed with the Loreal Full Restore Masque, left this in my hair for about 20 mins.
(5) Deep conditioned with Elasta QP Soy oil conditioner and left it in for about 1 hour.
(6) Wrapped my hair in an old t-shirt till it was about 80% dry.
(7) Applied my DB leave in and PM super skinny serum and detangled my hair.
(8) I then blow dried my hair on the cool setting.
(9) Sprayed my Chi heat protectant and straightened my hair.

Todays relaxer turned out to be one of the best yet, I managed to apply the relaxer to my whole head within good time and I did not under process my hair. Once I straightened my hair I got to assess my ends and they seem to be doing a lot better after my cut in Jan.
