Hair Update.

After relaxing my hair I'm not happy with the results not only did I under process my hair in some sections, my ends are also split. So iv decided that if I want to reach BSL I need to be more strict with my hair care regime and rely less on weaves and wigs.

From now on.
- I will deep condition my hair every 2 weeks

- Once a month I will do a protein treatment followed by a moisturising treatment.

- I will be relaxing my hair every 12 weeks instead of doing long relaxer stretches.

- I also need to be a lot more consistent with my trims which I will do every 5-6 months.

Im hoping this new regime along with some of the new products I am trying will help me reach my goal.

Relaxer Update

I relaxed my hair over the weekend using ORS no base relaxer, I neutralized with Elasta QP and Deep conditioned with Cremè Of Nature intensive conditioner mixed with JBCO and a small amount of Elsta QP re moisturising conditioner. I tried the shower cap method ( I don't know the actual name of this) this is when you part your hair into two sections you place a plastic cap/Shower cap around one section and secure it with some clips, this is to ensure that you can work on one section without under or over processing your hair. I will NOT be using this method again and the reason why is because I ended up under processing the right side of my hair which I have never done before, in the past I have always successfully relaxed/texlaxed my hair using the traditional method and this will be the method I use in the future.

I finished off by using ORS Curls Unleashed leave in conditioner on my hair and JBCO lavender pomade on my scalp. I tried Elasta QP Design Silk before I straightened my hair but I didn't like the way it made my hair feel so I reverted back to using my Profectiv Serum.

I plan to keep my hair in a high bun this week untill I dust off my ends and wash my hair..

Wash Day

After wearing my U Part wig for 3 weeks it was time to give my hair a good wash. Now usually I would use Cremè of Natures kiwi and citrus ultra moisturising shampoo followed by their intensive conditioning treatment with Argan oil however today I want to switch it up. So I decided to try Dove's intensive repair shampoo (which is currently £1.29 in Superdrug) as I'm trying to overcome my constantly dry hair I'm using Elsta QP deep penetrating re moisturising conditioner mixed with some honey and coconut oil. I plan to leave this in my hair for a few hours then rinse it out and leave my hair to air dry with Profectiv growth lotion and flexy rods.

Hair Update

I decided to start a hair blog mainly because I wanted to document my hair journey and use it as a type of journal. Throught out the years I have relied on hairstylists to take care of my hair thus resulting in my hair being shoulder length where it has been for a very long time. In June 2011 I decided to begin my healthy hair journey with an aim of reaching BSL (Bra Strap Length) it hasn't been the easiest of journeys. However I am determined to reach this goal at all costs. I currently Texlax my hair and wear weaves alot which I am trying to stop. I haven't done a length in a while but I will try and rectify this soon. In the mean time the pic below is of how my hair looked when I began my journey :-)
