My Opinions:

After searching for a staple deep conditioner I noticed this product at my local beauty supply store and decided to try it along with a sample sized jar of another product. whilst the sample sized product I bought failed miserably, this conditioner quickly became a staple. I am now on my 3rd jar of this product and I really like how my hair feels after using it, It even manages to moisturise my new growth and the slip this deep conditioner gives me is excellent. I use it every wash day and leave it in my hair for 45 mins with a plastic cap. One of the main reasons why I like this conditioner is because of it consistency, its thick but once applied to my hair it sinks in and once I rinse it out of my hair I'm left with a sweet scent.

I love how my hair feels after I have washed this conditioner out and will continue to use it through out my hair journey.

New Product : Coconut Oil.

Ok so its not really a new product as I'v used it before, but I recently purchased some more coconut oil and this time I plan to use it on my properly this time around.  When I originally started my hair journey in 2010 I purchased Coconut oil because thats what most of the youtube hair gurus were using, however I didn't really know any of its benefits. After doing some proper research I found that coconut oil has a lot of great benifits.

Some of the benefits of this oil are:
  • Coconut oil helps hair retain moisture, which helps to keepyour hair soft and more manageable.
  • It helps to nourish the scalp and is a natural remedy for dandruff.
  • It also helps to heal dry split ends.
  • It also repairs all the chemical and environmental damage that has been done to it.

Now that I am a bit more clued up on the benefits, I will be incorporating this oil into my regime by doing pre shampoo treatments and I will be using it as a to moisturise and seal the ends of my hair.

Relaxer Day.

(1) I started off by applying JBCO pomade to my temple, nape and round my ears.
(2) I Then sectioned my hair into 6 - 8 sections (this makes it easier and allows me to apply the relaxer quickly).

(3) Applied Roux to my already relaxed ends and began applying the relaxer leaving my nape and temple areas to last.

(4)Washed out the relaxer and neutralised with Elasta Qp, i repeated this until the shampoo was white.
(5) I followed up with a protein treatment using apogee 2 min reconstructor, whist the treatment was in my hair I sprayed the green tea all over my head and left it to sit in my hair under a plastic cap for 10mis.

(6) After rinsing out the mix I applied Aunt Jackie's Conditioner and left it in my hair for 45 mins and rinsed it out.
(7) I applied a heat protectant and blow dried my hair, then straightened it.

I retained a bit of length and I happy about that, Im still not too sure about my ends at the moment but I will hold off on trimming my hair for now.

Hair Problems: My Nape

My favourite protective style is weaves and u part wigs which means I have to braid my hair a lot which can be quite damaging to my hair at times. I recently took a pic of the back of my hair and noticed that my nape area was thinning and instantly got worried. I quickly reached for the Castor oil and applied this twice a day this seemed to help a little bit but there is still work to be done.

The 1st picture was taken early this year and the 2nd pic is before my last relaxer
which was in May.

In the picture above I have put a circle to show where the issues are and you can see that there is has been some improvement but there is still some thin areas. I will take some update pics at the end of the month.

The Take Down.

I wrote this post a little over a week ago, but I had some things going on soooo...

I have been wearing my u part wig for 4 weeks now and it was time to take down my hair and give my hair a good cleanse. During the 4 weeks I have been moisturising my hair with a shea butter mix and a castor oil mix so I decided to miss out the pre poo this time.

Once I took down my braids I parted my hair into 2 sections and detangled. below is a pic of the hair that was left in my comb after I detangled my hair.

Shed hair due to 4 weeks of not detangling my hair.

(1) I started off by washing my scalp with Amala deep cleanse shampoo 1oz (I did not like the smell of this shampoo) I put this in an applicator bottle and added some water.
(2) I then used my Komoza care Mojo Shampoo to continue washing my hair.
(3) I applied aphogee 2 min reconstructor and left it for 10 mins.
(4) Mixed black tea and green tea and did a rinse, added roux to my hair and let it it sit for another 10mins and detangled.
(5) Deep conditioned with Aunt Jackies.
(6) Air dried with an old t shirt.

I am now 6 weeks post relaxer and I plan on stretching for another 6 - 8 weeks.

Wash Day

My scalp had began to irritate me so I decided to cleanse it.

(1) I started off by mixing some apple cider vinegar and water.
(2) I then used the remainder of my mud wash from my previous wash day and left that I'm my hair for about 5mins, then rinsed.
(3) Applied Organix macadamia oil conditioner (Im trying to finish this) and put a plastic cap on and let it sit in my hair for about 30 mins.
(4) I then rinsed out the conditioner and then let my hair air dry.

In the beginning I wasnt too keen on washing my hair whilst it was still braided up but because my scalp was really irritating me I decided to risk it. After washing my hair and deep condioning it the braid became frizzy and looked a little untidy however once I sewed my wig back down that was no longer an issue.
